12th Delhi Sustainable Development Summit
The Delhi Sustainable Development Summit (DSDS), organized annually by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) since 2001, is an international undertaking that provides a platform for the exchange of knowledge on all aspects of sustainable development.
CDL recently contributed to two TV spots “DSDS: Global Commons”. These spots are about Global Commons. Every year TERI holds an annual summit which has world leaders present. It’s a high-profile summit held by TERI with many heads of states around environment and energy. This year’s theme of the summit is Global Commons.
These are television spots which will be released pre-summit on TV to encourage people to apply to participate in the summit or have awareness about the summit’s core concern which is Global commons. Briefly Global commons are that which no one person or state may own or control and which is central to life.
The videos portray the concern of Global Commons & Promotions of TERI and the summit – DSDS.
After the scripts were drafted for both commercials, CDL conducted an extensive character and concept designs. Once the character’s & environment look was agreed upon, Photoshop, Maya, Zbrush & Fusion came into picture to bring to life a unique 3D animation style. Charuvi inspired by “Madhubani Art” used the style as an important part of the concept.
At studio, we shot the team’s artists acting out the character’s performances to provide a reference for the body gestures and nuances throughout the shots. After a three week grind handling the character and environment development, we cracked through the first and second spots in a week and a half each; a three-day edit perfected the comedic timing and tone they had worked toward from the beginning.
“We pride ourselves on finding creative solutions to pretty much any issue, and this project was no exception.”
TERI said :
“If you are seeking animation, that brings together aesthetics, creativity, art and imagination seamlessly together, CDL is one of the best places to stop by. Some of their work reflects art in its purest form.”                                             Â
